Key responsibilities

• Operate a derrick crane to lift and move heavy materials on construction sites
• Inspect crane before and after use to ensure it is in proper working condition
• Communicate with site supervisors and team members to determine the best approach for lifting and moving materials
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe work environment
• Ensure that all materials are properly secured and loaded onto the crane before lifting
• Monitor and maintain the crane's mechanical and electrical systems
• Troubleshoot and report any issues or malfunctions with the crane
• Keep detailed records of daily operations and maintenance activities
• Train and guide new crane operators as needed
• Follow company policies and procedures at all times

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a derrick crane
• Valid crane operator certification and license
• Strong understanding of crane operations and safety protocols
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed

Working conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working on construction sites. The work environment may be loud, dusty, and physically demanding. The position may also require working in various weather conditions. The candidate must be able to lift heavy materials and work at heights.
