Credit Controller

Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor on a daily basis the invoices issued from the financial system
• Ensure invoices are delivered to clients on time by receiving updated data from consultants showing invoice number, issuing date and delivery date
• Timely verification of invoices with clients and provide “early warning” on any potential issues for follow up
• Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner
• Meet cash & debtor day targets set by the Company
• Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter and in person within agreed timescales
• Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
• Regular meetings with Finance Director, Managing Director and Operational team to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
• Request branch/operational interaction in cases where the payment is delayed and client is not responding positively
• Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to align with agreed payment terms
• Handle disputed invoices and negotiate, once authorized, to bring payment within the agreed terms
• Provide accurate and timely advice on billing queries
• Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries
• Propose write off of irrecoverable WIP and/or invoices with comprehensive explanations and proposed corrective action for future dealings with particular clients
• Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
• Send out monthly client statements/letters
• Entering Invoice and credit notes on NAVISION
• Generating financial data reports from internal software (one touch)
• Depositing cheque in banks, withdrawing petty cash from bank when required
• Visiting client’s for payment follow up if needed

Additional Duties:
• Checking the Temp invoices and see all the expenses have proper supporting
• Adhoc duties as and when required


• Must be either part qualified ACCA/CA/CMA/CIMA or minimum of a Degree qualification in
• Accounting or Commerce
• Must have a minimum of 12 months working in an accounting role
• Must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint & Word
• Must have strong verbal and written English skills
• Must have experience of using ERP software
• Must have the ability to influence customers
• Must be able to work as part of a team
• Experience of working in the service industry is desirable
• A full clean driving license is desirable
