Data Scientist - Dubai, UAE

Fetchr Data Science is just getting started, growing next to a more established Engineering and Product organization. Your new role
As a Data Scientist in Analytics, you will partner with Product and Business Excellence teams to work on our core delivery business. Since the Data Science team is just forming, you will have an opportunity to shape and form our data science story. Your primary goal is to help drive informed business, product and operational decisions at Fetchr using your ability to turn data into insights and understanding.
Requirements
What you'll need to succeed in your new role
With a background in a quantitative or technical field or economics, you will need to have experience working with and building data sets and metrics, and will have experience in data-driven decision making. You are scrappy, focused on results, a self-starter, and have demonstrated success in using analytics to drive the understanding, growth, and success of a product.
- Excitement about Fetchr and shipping stuff to people
- Excellent analytic and modeling skills: how do you analyze a problem to gain actionable understanding, to decide whether you're recommending a simple product change, an operational change, an experiment, or the building of a full fledged ML model
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, as you will be working with PMs, Ops managers, CxOs, helping them understand their domain and help set goals for them
- Cross-team communication skills. You'll need to understand the product implications of data and be able to convey uncertainties and caveats with the data
- Willingness to build simple pipelines, metrics and dashboards to support your own work to get to the desired insight and understanding
- SQL is your second language
- Good-enough coding skills in a language useful in this setting, eg. Python
- Interest in analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning (Gradient Boosted Decision Trees, Random Forests, etc.)
