Employment: Full Time

The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. The role of the data scientist is to deliver value, measurable insights to the wider business through the use of various statistical tools and techniques on top of a variety of data sources both internal and external to the business.

Description
* Data Scientist responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design. Data Scientists will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements
* Deliver measurable business value by Interpreting data, analysing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing insights
* Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality systems
* Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases/data
* Proactively identify areas to add value to the value to the business as well as fulfil the demand coming from the business
* Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing insights to the wider business
* Work with the Data team to develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality
* Work with the data governance team to help drive consistency in MDM, Data Definitions etc to create a trusted source of data
* Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
* Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
* Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
* Work with management to prioritise business and information needs
* Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Requirements

* A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Compute Science, Information Management or Statistics, preferably MSc level or MBA
* Proven working experience of providing valuable insights as a data scientist (minimum 3 years)
* Strong knowledge and experience of using analytics and reporting tools and languages e.g. SAS, R, Tableau etc with SQL. NoSQL, Javascript experienced highly preferred.
* Knowledge and experience of Data Virtualisation
* Technical expertise regarding data models, database design, data manipulation, data mining and segmentation techniques
* Strong analytics skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
* Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
* Acquisition data from primary and/or secondary sources
