Job summary

The database support specialist is responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, security, and availability of the company's databases. This role plays a critical part in optimizing databases and maintaining backups. The specialist will also support data integration, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives to enable informed decision-making across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain database performance, security, and availability across production, development, and test environments.
• Optimize database structures, queries, and configurations to enhance system efficiency.
• Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Ensure all databases comply with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Provide technical support for data integration, reporting, and business intelligence projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, minimizing downtime and performance impact.
• Collaborate with application developers, business users, and IT teams to meet data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including database architecture diagrams, procedures, and operational guides.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in database administration or support within the UAE financial sector.
• Familiar with Oracle V11 and MSSQL Database.
• Strong knowledge of database security, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, regulated, and collaborative environment.
