Job Overview:
A Database System Analyst advises and supports the Commercial Department with IT-related issues regarding general programming, databases and network administration. Aside from support, the Database System Analyst also needs to have a pro-active mind-set towards database architecture and application development to improve the quality and efficiency of the department, while ensuring the highest level of security and system reliability. The Database System Analyst will work together in a dynamic team with a range of different job functions. Therefore, good social skills, the correct team spirit, a high level of independence and a pro-active approach are required.

Responsibilities and duties:
• Set-up and management of databases
• Maintaining database performance by troubleshooting problems
• Securing database by developing policies, procedures, and controls.
• Solving software related issues
• Check existing systems and suggest improvements
• Creating custom solutions in software packages like Matlab.
• Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Setting up web interfaces
• Staying up to date with the latest technologies in this field

Requirements

• Understanding of structured query language (SQL)

About the Company

By way of a brief introduction to National Marine Dredging Company, in 1976 as a dredging division of ADNOC a board decision was taken to form an autonomous dredging company reporting to its own Board of Directors. NMDC was founded and commenced trading in its own right on 1st January 1980.

We are a National Company owned 40% by the Government of Abu Dhabi and 60% by UAE Nationals and registered as a public company trading on the Abu Dhabi stock exchange with a registered paid up capital asset value of Dhs 169,000,000-00. Currently our business is conducted from our modern premises which include multi-discipline workshops, slip ways and a fully support administration and technical departments located in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi with subsidiary office in Zayed the Second St, Abu Dhabi.
