Overview
MBC is seeking a Digital Delivery Manager to lead new development initiatives for its service aggregation TV platforms. The Delivery Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining project plans, assessing resource availability, anticipating bottlenecks, managing escalations, recommending trade-offs, and balancing business needs with technical constraints. Additionally, they will champion AGILE project management practices to ensure successful project execution.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- The Delivery Manager will oversee end-to-end product delivery, including intake, dependency and release management, operationalization, delivery feasibility, and performance reporting, while identifying opportunities for improved efficiency and coordination.
- Develop and manage project plans and schedules and be responsible for managing relationships with external vendors and/or third-party developers and their project deliverables.
- Manage complex and strategic projects end-to-end under minimal or no supervision from initiation to closure.
- Document detailed functional and business requirements, process flows, and use cases.
- Manage the project's risks, changes, and documentation.
- Track and update the plan on a regular basis to ensure timelines are met.
- Work closely with the Product team to develop clear and detailed requirements that tie product development to the vision and growth objectives.
- Coordinate between teams of technical resources and product stakeholders and have an understanding of the technologies, systems, and processes that will be used in achieving project objectives.
- Be the primary interface with the Product Management, Development, QA, and Operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of new business requirements like integration with telco billing.
- Partner with internal and external customers, business partners, and others to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs related to the project, driving results.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management to ensure that a team's progress and successes are highly visible to all stakeholders, including the team itself.
Requirements
- Holder of a degree from a highly reputed university, preferably in Computer Science.
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product delivery or a relevant domain area.
- Fluency in AGILE project methodologies is a must.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Experience with software or an online product is highly desired. However, previous experience of delivering Video on Demand (VOD) related technology projects would be a distinct advantage.
- Strong understanding of streaming media and the related technologies such as digital rights management and content delivery networks, among others.
- Must be comfortable in the development of products across a wide spectrum of applications, including content management, publishing, search, registration, billing, and payment systems.
- Knowledge of mobile and internet technologies and industry trends.
- Strong team player, able to develop strong working relationships and good organizational awareness.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills—verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently in a change-driven environment.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for the creation of management reports, presentations, and analysis is required.
