Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The role of the Demand Planner is to develop and facilitate the consensus forecast for the assigned brands. It is a key role for both the Supply Chain and the Brand team, supporting the overall business, financial and supply chain planning for the brands.

Basic Product Forecasting:
- Develops an accurate and unbiased forecast over a 12 month horizon for the assigned Brands by leveraging the SAP APO (statistical) forecast and by enriching the baseline forecast with business intelligence.
- Ensures reliable historical forecast data by validating the sell-in history and by maintaining demand planning attributes and master data in SAP APO.
- Gathers market intelligence to gain in-depth understanding of demand forecast drivers by interacting closely with Brands, Distributors, Finance and other stakeholders.
- Build up strong relationships with distributors to drive forecast reviews and data collections.

New Product Forecasting:
- Recommends action for future launches by steering new product pre- & post-launch analysis based on historical insights (pipeline, replenishment, cannibalization) and in close collaboration with Brands and the Regional Demand Planning team.
- Provides visibility on the status of New Launches by owning and managing the New Product Launch Tracker for the assigned brands.

SIOP Processes:
- Achieves a consensus forecast by steering the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process with Brands focusing on business outlook and building blocks assumptions.
- Shares scenarios planning by preparing the forecast versus sales estimate (LE) reconciliation and by assessing Risks & Opportunity.
- Ensure communication on demand changes and inventory impact by collaborating closely with Supply Management, Customer Service, Distributors and Brands, especially during out of stocks situation or new product launches.

Process Improvements:
- Leads Weighted Forecast Accuracy (WFA) improvement plans for assigned Brands by performing root cause analysis and action planning where appropriate.
- Steers improvements initiative by identifying process gaps and by taking the lead to close the gaps.

Requirements

- Educated to degree level
- 2 to 5 years experience in Supply Chain within FMCG/Cosmetics/Luxury
- Excellent English language
- Excellent communications skills
- Demand training / certification
- Preferably with experience using SAP APO or other ERP statistical/forecasting software packages
