Deputy Project Director

My client a leading Architectural & engineering practice seeks a Deputy Project Director who will play a key leadership role in managing and delivering the construction supervision phase of a prestigious 5-star hotel development in Dubai. Reporting to the Project Director, the role involves overseeing multidisciplinary site teams, ensuring design intent is maintained, project milestones are achieved, and the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the Project Director in the overall management of project delivery during the construction supervision phase.
* Lead and coordinate the activities of the site-based supervision team, including architecture, structural, MEP, and interior design disciplines.
* Oversee the contractor's performance, ensuring compliance with design specifications, schedule, and quality requirements.
* Maintain strong interface with the client, contractor, and design teams to resolve technical and commercial issues effectively.
* Manage progress meetings, report on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
* Ensure all site supervision activities comply with contract requirements, local regulations, and company standards.
* Review and approve contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and material proposals in coordination with the design team.
* Drive adherence to project timelines and budgets, proactively addressing delays or deviations.
* Support claims management and variation assessments with appropriate technical documentation.
* Foster a collaborative team culture that promotes proactive problem solving and design integrity.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management (Master's degree preferred).
* Minimum 18-22 years of professional experience, with at least 8 years in the UAE.
* Proven track record in construction supervision of high-end hospitality or luxury hotel projects.
* Previous experience with top-tier international consultancies or project management firms.
* Strong understanding of design coordination, technical detailing, and quality control standards.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and ensure alignment across all supervision functions.
* PMP or similar project management certification is an advantage.
