Design and Technology Teacher

Introduction: Are you a Design & Technology Teacher with a degree in IT, MIS, Science or Engineering? Are you looking for an exciting new position teaching in the U.A.E on a 2 year fixed term contract?

The Job:
Alderwood are representing a large and successful teaching organisation that is responsible for running a large number of schools in the Middle East. We are looking for a number of experienced and qualified Design & Technology teachers to join them in Jan 2018.

You will be responsible for providing high quality teaching and learning support to students aged 14-18 years old by conducting sound competency assessments with your discipline. You are also required to provide administrative, promotional and other support to ensure the effective functioning of the company.

Requirements

Experience Required:
- Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience within a Middle or High School
- Experience of running STEM projects across different grades
- Experience in participating or supervising student projects for design and technology competitions is highly desirable

Education Requirements:
- University Degree in IT, MIS, Science, Engineering or equivalent in Design & Technology related subject area
- Qualified Teacher status through PGCE, DTLL, PTLL, or other international equivalent
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Essential understanding and application of programming web designing (Java, HTML, and Python) and hardware (C++ and C#)
- Excellent oral and written English
- IELTS 7 Academic for non-first language English speakers only
