Job description / Role
The Design Coordinator / Team Leader shall coordinate ID drawings and specification documents with all other interface trades and transfer of imperative information between engineering and construction departments; lead the CAD Operators to achieve daily targets; expedite design solutions for the site team by correlating the right materials and methods to install.
Responsibilities:
• Produce the shop drawing log in connection with the agreed program of works and adhere to the planned submission dates. Coordinate with subcontractors for their shop drawing production.
• Lead the CAD team to achieve assigned targets
• Review and advise of technicalities of in-house products and system
• Compatibility checks on design elements and materials with the performance ratings and local regulations where applicable.
• Produce the shop drawing log in connection with the agreed program of works and adhere to the planned submission dates. Coordinate with subcontractors for their shop drawing production.
• Identify the possible obstacles which may interrupt the engineering submission and send RFI in advance to avoid delays.
• Constantly support the construction team with required modifications as per site condition and or design changes.
• Equip CAD team with the most appropriate details taking into consideration the complexity of the design and feasibility.
• Maintain adequate record of changes in the impact log by referring to all modes of input received from the consultants.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Architecture or Civil Engineering.
• Between 4 to 7 years of experience working in the construction industry
Job Skills:
• Must have good English communication skills
• Proficient in using AutoCAD
• Able to demonstrate organizational skills, time management skills, and reporting skills
• Adept in using Microsoft Office Suite
