Design Engineer - Moulds - Automotive industry

Job description / Role

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design of all thermoforming or GRP parts and molds required in the production of vehicles.
• Review the parts designed by D.E for suitability of molding or forming and suggest required changes for parts extraction.
• Prepare the design of blocks required for machining molds and release 2D and 3D data for manufacturing.
• Communicate with all parties involved on the project to validate designed parts in terms of integration on the vehicle (electric, manufacturing, mounting).
• In charge of using non-conventional technologies for rapid prototyping such as 3D scanning and 3D printing.
• Other engineering-related work as instructed by the Engineering Manager and Engineering Director.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Minimum graduate in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a related field.
• Relevant experience in SolidWorks or similar design solutions is a must.
