Design Manager

Job description / Role

The Design Manager is responsible for ensuring highly motivated Design Team that successfully achieve their operational objectives on budget and schedule.

The Design Manager must follow the direction of his / her immediate Supervisor and operates in accordance with the Company’s Procedure, Policies, HSE Standards and Quality Management System.

Responsibilities:
• Define projects generic schedule, deliverable timeline and phases and RFP template.
• Manage projects from initial stage & feasibility study, concept design to the final stage in the pre-contract stage.
• Improve the coordination with all parties, business, and subsidiaries as work team with the professionals to define their business needs and requirements to be delivered on time.
• Establish Design objectives and evaluate the submittal of the consultants, contractors, sub-contractors at work.
• Work as team leader to initiate the work environment for internal and external projects and advise the higher management, decision maker.
• Implement the new concept of projects design using Building Information Management (BIM).
• Development the needs and address the requirements for the new system by planned supported with mentoring and train & evaluate the team.
• Do Urban design & planning, Architectural design using BIM Process and implementation. Leading, developing, manage monitoring and control in Architects and the Design Team and other disciplines.
• Do and manage the team for Space Planning & Program.
• Train the team to use the needed Programs like BIM.
• Lead the architects and engineers in providing full design and architectural, and engineering services from concept to detailed design stages, drawings, specifications and estimates.
• Play the main role for the team of architects to providing full design concept to detailed design drawings and specifications and tender documents.
• Prepare urban design, master plan, architectural concept design, space programming, and 3D visualization proposals of projects.
• Coordinates with local government agencies regarding municipality standards and regulations.
• Manage the architects who is in charge in the municipality and authorities’ submission.
• Check and review shop drawings, in charge in material submission and coordination with various discipline.
• Prepares plans and studies and coordinate with other local governments, meets with public officials and public regarding development and land use.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in architecture, or related field.
• Experience: 10+ years professional experience as design manager.
• Project Management Experience

Skills:
• Strong technical background in technical design
• Deep knowledge of construction materials and methodologies
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Proficiency in design software such as BIM / REVIT / AUTOCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, and many others
• Ability to explain technical changes to the junior designer.
