Design Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Manager to join a leading main contractor in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design process of various construction projects, ensuring that designs meet client specifications, are innovative, and comply with local regulations. As a Design Manager, you will collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities:
- Lead the design team in the development and execution of project design strategies.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure design integrity and compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Review and approve design proposals, ensuring they align with project objectives and client requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers to establish design timelines and deliverables.
- Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the design team.
- Manage the design budget, ensuring all projects are delivered within financial constraints.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding design queries and updates.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually improve design processes.
- Facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to encourage innovative design solutions.
- Prepare and present design concepts and progress reports to stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in design management within the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor.
- Proven track record of successfully managing design teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards in the UAE.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Proficiency in design software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- A proactive and innovative mindset, with a passion for design excellence and sustainability.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.

Salary:
AED 30,000 to 40,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
