Design Manager

Job description / Role

The Design Manager (Contractor) is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and managing the design process in alignment with the appointed Design Consultant, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, constructability, cost, schedule, and authority approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary coordination point between the Design Consultant, client, and contractor’s site team.
• Review consultant design submissions (drawings, calculations, specifications) for compliance with contract, constructability, cost efficiency, and project schedule.
• Ensure timely submission, review, and approval of all design deliverables in line with the project programme.
• Lead design review meetings and track actions, comments, and responses.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture,
• Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role in civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of design software and tools relevant to civil construction projects.
• Excellent understanding of local UAE construction codes, standards, and regulations.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
• Commitment to safety and quality in all design activities.
