Design Manager – Modular Furniture

Guildhall, one of the GCC’s leading executive search and recruitment firms, is recruiting on behalf of a well-established modular furniture manufacturer based in Umm Al Quwain, UAE.

Our client specialises in the design and production of modular kitchens, wardrobes, and wooden doors, serving both residential and commercial projects across the region.

They are now seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead their design and technical teams, ensuring creativity, innovation, and manufacturing precision across all product lines.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the design team in developing 2D and 3D designs for kitchens, wardrobes, and wooden doors.
- Review and approve design layouts, drawings, material specifications, and hardware details.
- Translate client briefs and architectural drawings into manufacturable, high-quality designs.
- Coordinate with the Technical and Production departments to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
- Attend client meetings and site visits to gather requirements and present design proposals.
- Drive innovation in modular systems, finishes, and design concepts to support product development.
- Mentor and train the design team, fostering creativity, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Ensure design documentation aligns with production standards and factory capabilities.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Furniture Design.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in modular furniture or joinery design (kitchens, wardrobes, doors).
- Strong understanding of materials, fittings, and production methods.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Cabinet Vision, or TopSolid Wood.
- Previous experience managing a design team within a manufacturing or joinery environment.
- Excellent design sensibility combined with technical and practical knowledge.

Salary:
AED 20,000 to 25,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
