Job description / Role
Key Responsibilities:
• Report directly to DM with respect to all project related and engineering matter and will work as integrated team ensuring proper information/coordination flow.
• To prepare drawing register.
• Preparation of Drawing Submittal Plan in accordance with the system design and or location of project.
• To ensure preparation of Shop Drawings, Fabrication Material Schedules, Production schedules and production drawings in accordance with project specification & approved materials.
• Co-ordinate with Structural Engineering Manager/Structural Engineer on systems calculations.
• To study / understand Design Plan and Production Order Release Plan as detailed in Material Requirement Plan.
• To understand Projects Specification and qualified offer.
• To review tender drawings previously used by Commercial Department against construction drawings and report any changes / variation to DM / TM.
• Ensure design shown in Shop Drawings is achievable in regard of using standard / available sections, easy to fabricate / install by way of coordination with concerned production & installation teams.
• To check all shop drawings and ensure all components are correct and all information is available for easy / correct allocation of material.
• To ensure shop drawings are done in accordance to “Issue for Construction” drawings, Architectural & Structural, issued by Main Contractor.
• To help / train his team to understand all phase / components to ensure minimum number of drawing revisions. Maximum target is 2 (two) revisions.
• To report to Design Manager in case of any design problems and highlight any concerns in achieving targeted design plan / production orders release plan.
• Coordinate with site team in case of any queries changes during installation.
• To record any changes from design during installation in order to include in AS-BUILT DRAWINGS.
• Ensure optimization is done with assistance of materials department.
• Co-ordinate the interface details with the Project Manager.
• To report to Technical Manager / Design Manager any variations either positive or negative that occurs during design.
• Prepare die components list for every project.
• Ensure production drawings are done in time as per agreed plans.
• Checking all production drawings and ensure that it is in accordance with approved shop drawings, site measurement, factory capabilities, and easy site fixing.
• Plan release of production components with coordination of factory lead time to ensure smooth assembly and delivery to site, ensure components with long lead time are released first for production.
• To control release of works orders and to highlight any scope of work not covered in BOQ.
• To ensure all work done by his team is checked before released to production.
• To answer all non-conformity reports.
• Coordinate with Material Co-coordinator for supplier technical details of supplied products.
• To ensure that using the network folders structure as explained is effectively used and maintained by his team for easy finding of drawings / reference.
Requirements
• Education/Qualification: University Degree Engineering/ Architectural earned at reputable University.
• Experience: Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Façade and 2-3 years as Design Team Leader
• Skills: Team work, Time management, Attention to detail, Optimum use of resource
• Knowledge: Windows, MS office- Excel, AutoCAD
