Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Designated Safeguarding Lead will lead the implementation and support the development of safeguarding and child protection initiatives across the STS Group. This includes providing sound advice and support on child safeguarding matters to the management team, supporting the development of child safeguarding policies, developing and delivering training programs, and reviewing safeguarding audits.

Requirements:

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Have a thorough understanding of related educational safeguarding matters, ICT security, online abuse, bullying, self-harm, missing from education, behaviour management, and managing allegations.
• Be able to coordinate and manage child safeguarding data and information with sensitivity and confidentiality;
• Excellent time management skills and be able to maintain high levels of speed and accuracy whilst managing competing priorities to challenging deadlines;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, matched with strong child-centric practice.
• Highly developed organizational and presentation skills;
• Has a thorough understanding of national and local safeguarding guidance, relevant laws, and the education inspection process to ensure compliance.
• Should have excellent analytical and MS Office skills;
• Possess excellent training and report writing skills;
• Be active, energetic, a challenger of the status quo, innovative, take initiative, self-driven, confident, and work with minimum supervision.
• Be able to work and handle pressure during audits, incidents and inspections.

Essential Experiences:

• Minimum of three (3) years experience in a safeguarding or child protection role.
• Proven experience working in the UAE or GCC region, with a strong understanding of the UAE's National Child Protection Policy in Educational Institutions and UAE Federal Law No. 3 of 2016.
• Track record in managing multiple cases of children at risk.
• Expertise in designing and implementing safeguarding and child protection policies and training programs, preferably in the context of UAE legal requirements.
• Strong understanding of UAE culture, values, and traditions, with the ability to implement culturally appropriate safeguarding practices.
• Able to provide detailed audit reports with relevant preventive and corrective measures.

Salary:
AED 10,000 to 12,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
