Charterhouse are currently in process with an Abu Dhabi conglomerate, whom are in the process of pushing forward an inorganic growth strategy, within the construction sector. Through acquisition, the Group shall be diversifying their portfolio and operations in to the Contracting space, and as a result, they are looking to identify a Director of Accounting & Finance.

This Director shall be appointed as the financial and accounting steward for this acquired entity, taking ownership of all accounting operations, financial planning and investment-related strategies across the organisation. This role shall also be geared heavily towards the development and roll-out of accounting policy and control governance, to instil strong IFRS complaint reporting, which is designed to support all areas of commercial operations whilst also providing solid planning and budgeting capabilities for both operational and business support.

This Finance Director will be required to assess and realign any financing and funding arrangements, to allow for both liquidity management and cash flow objectives across both current and pipeline projects.

In conjunction, the role is also geared towards the implementation of robust financial planning & analysis capabilities; to support any business development objectives, Capex and Opex allocated to the business.

Requirements

The client is looking to recruit a professionally qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA), whom is also able to demonstrate a track record within a corporate finance and strategic role, with an MBA and/or CFA type qualification. The client will look for a Finance Director whom is able to provide a hands-on track record, within the core accounting and control operations, coupled with an ability to add a commercial and business partnering approach to a start-up, growth-mode or restructuring organisational environment.

Exposure to a construction-related sector and/or organisation shall be a critical criterion with the search; as the client shall be looking to build an ‘inhouse’ expertise of the Contracting industry, in support of corporate objectives and business growth targets. The successful candidate shall also be required to demonstrate Excel capabilities, to a financial modelling level, whereby FP&A and investment due diligence can also be introduced as a mainstream financial function.

On top of these technical skills, the successful candidate shall be expected to possess excellent stakeholder management skills combined with an ability to present reports and pitches at all levels within the organisation, in support of both corporate, HR-related objectives and any succession planning.
