The Role

The Information Assurance (IA) function within the Information Security (IS) department is the pivotal, strategic function that delivers business stakeholders with effective risk management, clear policy guidance for the DarkMatter Group and drives compliance to the IA framework by actively providing Governance, Cyber Risk and Awareness training sessions as well as driving the Accreditation and Certification (ACE) process for all systems and applications.

The Director - IA is responsible for supporting the Information Security (IS) - Security Design Authority (SDA) to ensure that IA is "built in" from the start in technology and solely for ingraining Information security in people and processes.

As a Director - Information Assurance, you will handle:

- Establish themselves as a trusted advisor to our Client executive management
- Support our Client in reviewing and approving security policies, controls and cyber incident response planning
- Work with our client executives to utilize knowledge to identification of risks and actionable plans to protect the business operations of the client.
- Support the our Client executive management to direct and approve the DarkMatter and other vendor designs for new infrastructure and technologies, particularly for the security systems and addressing on-plan and on-time the recommendations stemming from our engagement
- Advise our Client on the validity of the project change requests and ensure that these align to the clients strategy and needs
- Support our Client with approving or improving the policies, processes and procedures
- Support our Client with identifying the optimum IT/IS staffing requirements for now and future and also support them with preparing their business for upcoming changes
- Support our Client by involvement in periodic security audits
- Support our Client to oversee identity and access management
- Support our Client with updating/enhancing the cyber security strategy and agenda to leverage new technology and threat information and to support deploying these in a timely manner
- Support our Client with information in order to enable them to communicate best practices and risks to all parts of the business, outside IT

Requirements

To bring your dream to life, you'll need:

- Experienced in, and able to formulate, the cost effectiveness benefit of security initiatives in the context of overall business risk mitigation and the company's operational objectives
- Posses in-depth knowledge of industry information security standards such as NIST 800-53 series and ISO 27001/27002 and has implemented and maintained effective, compliant IA programmes in multinational, government or defence organizations.
- 15+ years of experience with a combination of policy development, governance, risk management, information management, records retention, data privacy/protection, compliance and information technology backgrounds required.
- Must possess and demonstrate deep technical skills in at least one domain of penetration testing, systems or application security, security architecture, network security even though the role is not technical.
- Comply with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and practices and operate at the highest degrees of integrity and confidentiality.
- Keeps abreast of security industry trends/best practices for use in strategic and/or tactical planning
- Well-developed change management skills; be effective in working across organizational boundaries to build a case for changes, and to execute on the change plan - from strategy through to ongoing operation and process improvement
- Will possess extensive experience in leading teams
