What you will be doing:
- The Director of Engineering leads the Engineering team with maintenance for the entire hotel facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.
- Conduct walk-throughs and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structures of the hotel, convention meeting space, guest areas and heart of the house areas.
- Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and coaching department associates and follow prescribed safety procedures for team members and equipment by hotel standards and local regulations.
- A strong accent has to be given as well to preventive maintenance and relevant programs.
- To maintain our standards of quality and service and facilities in all departments over which he/she has responsibility and authority.
- He/she is responsible for the overall smooth, efficient and economical running of the entire Engineering department.
- Assist the Maintenance and Management in planning for the investment, project and replacement budget on a yearly basis.

Requirements

Experience/Certificates/Education
- Educated to bachelor's degree level or beyond in Engineering field.
- Prior experience as a Department Head in a large, fast paced organisation
- Fluency in verbal and written English is essential - an additional language eg Arabic would be an advantage
- 5 years prior experience as a Director of Engineering in a like property
- Must be a highly capable user of Microsoft office programmes including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Previous working experience in a global work environment is essential
