Employment: Full Time

The Director of Government Communications will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategic communication plans and initiatives.

Client Details

A local government client, with exposure across the Abu Dhabi ecosystem.

Description

* Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that effectively promote government policies, initiatives, and programs to the public, media, and stakeholders.
* Provide strategic advice and counsel to government officials and leaders on communication matters, including crisis communication and reputation management.
* Manage a team of communications professionals to execute communication plans and ensure messaging is consistent, accurate, and aligned with government priorities.
* Serve as a spokesperson for the entity, delivering clear and compelling messages to the media and other stakeholders.
* Collaborate with government entities and departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of government activities and initiatives.
* Conduct research and analysis to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and provide recommendations for improvement.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and other key stakeholders to promote accurate and positive coverage of government activities and initiatives.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in a senior communication role, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful communication strategies.
* Strong knowledge of the political landscape and government operations in the UAE.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Demonstrated experience managing large teams of communications professionals.
* Ability to think strategically and provide sound advice to government officials and leaders.
* Experience in crisis communication and reputation management.
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
* Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) is required.
