Employment: Full Time

We currently have a requirement for a Director of Internal Communications working for a leading luxury brand in United Arab Emirates.

The ideal candidate must have specific experience in crisis communications and CEO communications. This is essential for this role and shortlisted candidates will be required to submit examples for review.

Job Description:

• Direct the design of the external communication strategy, through the identification and evaluation of communication platforms and the development of relationships with a diversified network of media, in order to compellingly convey the Group’s messages and maximize positive media coverage.
• Continuously review target audience segmentation and the evolution of audience preferences and information consumption patterns in order to recommend the most suitable communication channels per segment and tailor initiatives to reach the target audience effectively.
• Build strong strategic relationships with specialized and general media to help generate positive media interest and coverage, in order to promote and upscale the Group’s reputation as an innovative world-class brand.
• Steer the development of all corporate communications content and materials, including public relations programs, news releases, executive presentations etc., in order to ensure consistency in the global narratives shared by the Group and maximize their impact on target audiences.
• Direct the implementation of group-wide external communication campaigns, in line with the agreed upon timelines, resources and budgets, in order to promote the Group across multiple platforms and ensure the consistent delivery of key speaking points to the relevant audiences.
• Direct the planning and execution of flagship events, in collaboration with the Marketing function and including securing sponsorships and celebrity endorsements, in order to ensure that all events showcase the Group’s world-class brand and luxury standards.
• Support in crisis communication and in offsetting any external reputational risks on behalf of the Group in order to ensure that all potential threats to its image are mitigated in an effective and timely manner.
• Direct the monitoring, assessment and reporting of the performance of all external communications campaigns, by analysing key performance indicators (e.g. attendance in events, number of interviews etc.) in order to ensure visibility on their return on investment and adjust efforts accordingly.
• Manage the effective achievement of objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing staff and providing formal and informal feedback in order to maximize overall performance and team motivation while continuing to deploy resources effectively for growth and further strengthening the employee value proposition.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity so that the Group provides world class and luxurious services to its guests and protect the Shareholders’ interests.
• Contribute to the preparation of the department budget and monitor the financial performance of a given area versus the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.
• Recommend improvements to departmental policy and manage the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that the Group delivers world class services, excellence, and innovation.

Requirements

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or equivalent from an accredited and renowned University
• 6 to 8 years of corporate/internal communications experience, preferably with an international airline / luxury cruise company or a recognized blue-chip organization
• Experience of working in an international capacity and a solid understanding of cultural and market differences.
• Experience in preparing CEO communications
• Strong knowledge of corporate communications practices within the luxury cruise / airline or hotel industry.
• Excellent communication and public relations skills.
• Excellent innovation and creativity skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to shape narratives and public messages.
• Outstanding inter-personal skills.
• Extensive Crisis Communication skills
