Director of Sales - Conference and Events

The position is the Department Head and responsible for managing, administering and ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day operation of the Conference & Banqueting for which responsibilities include driving profit through implementation and maintenance of quality standards at all levels of the Conference & Banqueting. Responsible for the efficient utilization, to plan and implement procedures for the Conference & Banqueting under the consideration of the philosophy of the house and the Kempinski standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Direct completion of projects/tasks within estimated time frames and budget constraints.
- Establishes quantitative and qualitative goals for the team.
- Establishes and maintains a working environment conducive to promote teamwork.
- Recommends policies and procedures, ensures effective implementation.
- Develops comprehensive planning and project management.
- Represents the division on department committees.
- Manages and administers risk management issues.
- Provides technical expertise and leadership in assigned functional electrical, maintenance and system problems as appropriate to possible complicated projects.
- Facilitate forecasting process.
- Drive delivery of information to management and other departments concerned.
- Facilitate commission reporting and related issues.
- Facilitate meetings, schedules and travel.

Requirements

- 3-5 years experience in an International Conference & Banqueting.
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Power Point
- Knowledge of OPERA and Sales + Catering
