Employment: Full Time

Our client, a top-tier local islamic bank with a strong regional presence is currently looking to strengthen their Remedial team based in Abu Dhabi;

The Role:

- Responsible to manage, guide and lead the Remedial Management department in following up on non-performing assets and coordinating with the Risk Committee, relevant authorities divisions, departments in the resolution of remedial accounts
- Lead the development and implementation of the Remedial Management strategy in alignment with the bank's corporate strategy & division strategy through initiatives and projects
- Develop the business plan for the Remedial Management functions in line with the strategic direction of the bank, lead the development and implementation of the management strategy
- Develop the annual budget for the Remedial Management department in collaboration with Head of Finance, monitor variances on a regular basis & manage costs to ensure that the department’s budget targets are met. Oversee timely and appropriate remedial action on non performing accounts, assess the repayment capabilities of remedial customers
- Review the monthly MIS of the remedial portfolio covering exception reports, utilization of facilities, excesses, past-dues, expired credits, concentration of risk covering group exposure, industry concentration, oversee timely and appropriate remedial action

Salary:
AED 63000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

- Recommend settlement proposals or legal action for the remedial accounts to the Risk Committee/ relevant authority and participate in coordinating committees for the resolution of remedial accounts
- Recommend the appropriate general and specific provisions (e.g. upgrade/downgrade in customer rating and Central Bank specifications) to be taken for remedial accounts
- Review and assess proposals submitted by third parties (lawyers, consultants or court-appointed experts) and formulate a recommendation accordingly to the Risk Committee/ relevant approving authority
- Contribute in the preparation of the quarterly provision review and assess the level of provision required for the impaired assets of the Bank for Risk Committee approval
- Provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates based on performance management framework
- Contribute to the development of workforce plans for the Credit and Risk division in collaboration with Human Resources and development of employees through identifying the
appropriate learning and development opportunities
