Dragon Recruiting has a fantastic opportunity for Doctor in charge of ICRC personnel in the field to work with one of the prestigious healthcare organization in UAE.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote and apply preventive health policies and activities e.g. regarding insect borne diseases, diarrhoea, use of condoms, alcohol, etc. for ICRC staff
• Evaluate and supervise the quality of medical services provided in the centres of referral structures selected for treatment of ICRC staff
• Ensure appropriate management of ICRC staff with physical or mental health problems
• Act as focal point for coordination of medical evacuations of ICRC staff
• Carry out health briefings for all new ICRC staff
• Assess and supervise living conditions in the sub-delegations, to prevent ill health and promote good standards of general hygiene (housing, use of mosquito-nets when indicated, use of water filter, hygiene standards of cooks and cleaners, nutritional advice)
• Evaluate medical structures and quality of services provided; identify and monitor services for referral and treatment of ICRC staff using a standardised assessment tool
• Provide advice and support to ICRC staff with health problems; where necessary organize medical consultation and accompany ICRC staff as appropriate, follow-up on-site the medical problem until resolution
• In collaboration with field and logistics, provide advice on medical needs of ICRC staff during transportation and coordinate medical evacuations from the field to the capital. Liaise with HQ and coordinate at a local level in the case of repatriation of personnel out of the country
• In collaboration with management and logistics, compile guidelines and procedures to be followed during medical evacuation of personnel from the field or out of the country
• Set up means to identify the causes of recurrent or epidemic illness amongst ICRC staff
• In collaboration with management and in line with ICRC stress policy, develop, implement and follow specific stress management interventions
• Collect accurate and reliable data pertaining to illnesses, accidents and absenteeism, with a view to providing statistics on illnesses and the medical risks taken by expatriates on mission and, if possible, delegation employees

• Report to the management and provide feedback and recommendations on issues related to the health of the staff in the Delegation
• Carry out defusing and emotional debriefing following critical incidents in the field and follow up in case further intervention is required.

• Ability to summarise for rapid decision making
• Good sense of organisation and planning
• Good communication skills are essential
• Medical diploma with at least 3 years clinical experience
• Experience in medical evacuation and transportation
• Knowledge of tropical health and public health
• Very good written and oral communication skills in English and French ICRC experience is an asset
• Proficient user of IT tools (Word, Excel etc)
