Job description / Role
Position Overview: The Document Controller will be responsible in managing and controlling all project documentation related to mining operations. The role involves ensuring the documents are properly filed, tracked, and accessible to stakeholders while adhering to compliance and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Management: Develop and maintain document control procedures to ensure efficient management of all project-related documents, including contracts, drawings, reports, and correspondence.
- Version Control: Implement version control processes to track changes, updates, and revisions to documents, ensuring all stakeholders have access to the latest versions.
- Database Management: Utilize document management software and databases to categorize, store, and retrieve documents quickly and accurately.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all documents meet quality and compliance standards, conducting regular audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather, organize, and distribute project documentation.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members on document control procedures and software usage.
- Reporting: Generate and maintain documentation reports and dashboards for project tracking and compliance purposes.
- Archiving: Manage the archiving and retention of documents in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in document control or administration, preferably in the mining industry.
- Bachelor's degree in management, or a related field preferred.
- Proficient in document management systems and software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of mining industry standards and regulations is a plus.
