Are you an experienced Drama Trainer? Are you looking for a great tax free opportunity teaching overseas in the Northern Emirates on a 2 year fixed term contract?

Alderwood are representing a large and successful teaching organisation that is responsible for running a large number of private schools in the Middle East. We are looking for a Drama Curriculum Specialist to join in the New Year 2018.
Principal duties and responsibilities: The role will encompass all the following:

Responsibilities

• Ensure any organizational requirements and standards are met
• Liaise with internal departments and external organisations as required
• Promote innovation and creative teaching and learning strategies
• Attend and deliver training as required to ensure implementation of the curriculum
• Send out academic instruction to a team of Drama Teachers
• Carry out monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the curriculum
• Respond to data relating to student performance
• Create and support provision of relevant additional learning support
• Provide an example of academic and professional excellence
• Manage workload & staff (where required) to deliver to agreed targets
• Maintain and provide accurate and timely information in relation to curriculum design and implementation
• Leadership of teaching, learning and assessment strategies
• Take appropriate responsibility for learner safeguarding and the promotion of equality and diversity
• Ensure effective communication across teams and departments
• Develop extra-curricular activities to engage students in drama
• Attend meetings as required
• Utilize your strong planning and organizational skills
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and passion for the role
• Create a positive environment that encourages learning
• Commit to innovation in teaching and learning strategies
• Be confident and professional in appearance and conduct yourself with integrity, ensuring cultural appropriateness
• Be enthusiastic and show a willingness to engage in continuous professional development

Requirements

Experience Required

Essential
• Minimum of 5 years' experience teaching Drama or equivalent subjects
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working on curriculum development and/or
• assessment
• Experience of teaching students ranging from KG - Grade 12
• Experience of implementing a range of 21st century teaching and learning
• strategies
• Experience and excellent understanding of the creation and implementation of Drama curricula and a desire to enhance and improve the education system
• Student-centered approach to teaching with an understanding of Arab youth
• An understanding of how to adapt teaching style to cater to ESL learners
• Sound understanding of how to localize curriculum to suit the Emirati context
• Sound understanding of technologies that support educational development

Education Requirements

Essential
• Master's Degree in Drama or equivalent
• PGCE in Drama / Equivalent certificate OR
• M.Ed with focus on Drama
• Teaching qualification (e.g. DTLLS, PGCE, Cert. Ed) or equivalent
• IELTS 7 Academic for non-native English speakers. Bilingual Arabic - English
• speakers preferred

Desirable
• TEFL/CELTA/DELTA qualification
