Drifting Inspector

Job description / Role

This opportunity is with a Multinational company, a global leader specializing in advanced industrial products and services for the energy and mobility sectors into manufacturing of products in stainless steel and high-nickel alloy.

In this position you would be responsible for the following:

• Perform drifting inspections on OCTG products, including casing and tubing, to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct final and in-process inspections from marking, tracing, to final release, ensuring all quality control measures are met.
• Utilize precision measurement tools and equipment to verify dimensional accuracy, thread quality, and overall product integrity.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to perform accurate inspections.
• Document inspection results and maintain detailed records of all inspections performed.
• Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to resolve any discrepancies or non-conformities identified during inspections.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on inspection processes and participating in quality improvement projects.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations while performing inspection activities.

To be successful you would ideally possess:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years specifically in OCTG premium threading operations.
• Mechanical trade certification or diploma in a related field is required.
• Proven experience in final and in-process inspection lines within an OCTG or drilling products manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with precision measurement tools and equipment used in dimensional inspection (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
• Strong understanding of quality control processes and standards relevant to the oil and gas industry.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
