Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Plan, develop and implement staff development educational calendar for nursing staff.
• Chair and collaborate in the accreditation process.
• Develop curriculum, course outlines, training manuals, audiovisual materials and testing methods
• Plan, coordinate and provide comprehensive nursing orientation programs and manual.
• Supervise, evaluate and make recommendations regarding new nurses and employees
• Develop, implement and evaluate in-service programs utilizing adult learning theory and appropriate teaching and evaluation modalities with conduct and coordinate continuing nursing education programs as of seminars, workshops and specialty area clinical training.
• Collaborates with nursing administration in developing standards, policies, procedures and evaluation methods for determining the quality of nursing care.
• Assist with the deliverance of optimal care through consultation with nursing administration, infection control, and quality improvement.
• Develops and ensures the implementation and evaluation of standards of patient care delivery.
• Leads and directs the delivery of nursing services in a given area to meet the varying needs of patients and family; provides or supports training to staff as needed.
• Effective staff management to ensure utilization of positions assigned to the department best meet the needs of the patient population served.
• Supports Shared Governance Councils to ensure best practice initiatives are implemented and maintained for positive patient care outcomes.
• Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferably MSc) and Licensed
• Minimum around 10 yrs. experience in clinical care and Managerial roles within Nursing Administration
• International accreditation experience
• Demonstrates evidence of a good overview of the service and the reporting structures
• Demonstrates evidence of awareness of level of service.
• Demonstrate Knowledge about Accreditation process and Standards plus audit skills
• Demonstrate quality assurance, improvement and understanding of governance and complaint management issues
• Demonstrates evidence-based clinical knowledge in making decisions regarding patient and family care
• Displays behavior that enhances the image of the organization as evidenced by professional and courteous behavior toward all clients and co-workers.
• Demonstrates up to date knowledge of professional nursing developments
• Demonstrates evidence of computer skills
• Demonstrates evidence of research
