Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is one of the major independent power producers in the UAE and they want someone from a similar processing operation hence power or water treatment.

They are wishing to recruit a qualified Electrical Maintenance Engineer experience [supervision experience is a plus]. Must speak and write very good English.

Description:
* Supervises all maintenance of the electrical protection relay and control systems (for Generators, transformers, 400KV, 132KV, 11KV and 400V switch-gear, motors Diesel Generators, Desalination Plant etc), Synchronization system, Excitation system, Auto Quick transfer schemes, MV and LV motors, Cranes, Lifts, Telephone and communication system, Public Address system. Achieves smooth operation and minimum forced outage of the units, the above equipment/plant maintenance is regularly done through minor / major maintenance and defect attending activities. To prevent failure in systems like protection, synchronization, excitation system this can cause unit/plant outage.
* Must have power plant or water and/or water desalination plant experience.

Salary is 20-25k AED/mth tax free.

WORK PERFORMED:
* Supervises activities of assigned personnel in the Protection and Workshop Unit. Performs supervisory duties at the level established by the Management.
* Comply with company safety standard and ensure safety of his team, himself and assets. Organize safety tool box for his staff and do a Risk assessment for each job.
* Prepare and submit a short /long term planning for his area.
* Participate on the budget preparation and submission and manage his Area Budget
* Spare parts and obsolete system management
* Collect detailed information for any abnormality observed relating to equipment maintained by the protection section. Discusses with immediate Superior (Section Head) about the program and activities of the day.
* Assign duties to the staff for routine works or attending defects in consultation with the section head. Discusses technical aspects of defects and prepares the daily work plan. Undertakes the preparation of work orders.
* Discusses the daily program and testing activities with other sections to coordinate the use of primary equipment (which belongs to other sections) for the protection schemes. Identifies the exact cause of defect through technical literature and drawings. Performs joint examination of the involved schematics to reach for a common safe and acceptable working principle.
* Supervises the work being carried out by the staff. Examines the test results. Prepares and maintains test results.
* Performs other activities, which are done from time to time. Include activities such as assisting the section head for planning the major and minor overhaul program for completing the required work within the scheduled outage of the plant. To identify the periods when extra working hours might be needed for timely completion of the work; devising and outlining maintenance procedures for testing to ensure maximum service life and utilization. Developing test formats for achieving complete testing and not leaving anything or part unattended. Maintaining the testing records.
* Keeps abreast of the technical knowledge and engineering practices and utilize them in solution of theoretical and practical problems.
* Performs other similar or related activities such as deputizing for the Head of Protection & Workshop Section during his absence.
* Include the required standards maintenance software for communication and event analyze of protections like an AcSelerator, Dixie, Enervista and etc. and very important software for maintenance planning and records maintaining like Protest (or equivalence for this one). Here is the moment to mention for certifications, license and factory special courses for equipment you have available in your plants.

Requirements

* Familiar with Management Of Change Process (MOC)
* Familiar with the Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
* Proficiency on the interpretation of electrical drawings
