Key responsibilities: electrical engineering in civil projects and stakeholder engagement

• Provide expert electrical engineering input and technical solutions across various civil infrastructure projects from concept through to delivery.
• Engage proactively with new and existing clients to identify and interpret their needs, presenting tailored solutions and technical proposals.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems in line with project specifications and industry best practices.
• Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations, bids, and responses for tenders, ensuring clarity and alignment with client requirements.
• Support site activities by producing and reviewing technical documentation, method statements, risk assessments, and compliance checklists.
• Participate in site inspections, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical installations within civil works (such as building services, power distribution, and lighting).
• Monitor project progress and provide regular technical updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Drive continual process improvement by identifying and addressing challenges, proposing practical value-engineered solutions.

• Excellent selling skills with a proven ability to build client relationships and offer technical solutions that align with project needs.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of electrical systems relevant to the civil engineering sector (e.g., power distribution, building electrics, automation, safety systems).
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex technical information for diverse audiences.
• Confidence in delivering product and service presentations to clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and regulations relevant to both civil and electrical engineering standards.
• Strong organisational abilities; comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

Qualifications & experience: electrical engineering within civil context

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Experience (minimum 3 years preferred) working on electrical aspects of civil engineering infrastructure or construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience in a client-facing, consultative engineering or technical sales environment is an advantage.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (such as IEC, BS EN, or regional equivalents).
• Proficiency in technical software for electrical design and documentation, as well as MS Office suite.
