Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Management:
  - Lead, train, and manage a team of electrical engineers, ensuring expertise in all functionalities of electrical systems.
  - Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of concept and pre-feed projects.
  - Interface with clients during meetings, align with project requirements, and complete necessary reports.
  - Collaborate closely with concept teams to develop innovative solutions.
  - Lead a multicultural team, ensuring effective collaboration and addressing any interpersonal conflicts.
• Technical Expertise:
  - Provide technical guidance in the design and implementation of 400kV, 132kV, and 11kV distribution systems.
  - Expertise in substation design, including AIS (Air Insulated Substations) and GIS (Gas Insulated Substations).
  - Develop and review ring main designs and other overall electrical distribution systems.
  - Ensure compliance with the Ministry of Electricity (MoE-Iraq) safety standards and procedures.
  - Present concept options during weekly meetings and write technical notes/reports.
  - Proficient in ETAP for load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and harmonic analysis.
  - Experience in transmission and distribution in EHT, HT, and LT networks, addressing and solving complex technical issues in high-voltage systems and substation designs.
• Project Management:
  - Manage multiple CTRs (Cost, Time, and Resources) simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget and schedule.
  - Manage expectations and maintain effective communication with diverse stakeholders, including clients and other parties.
  - Conduct risk assessments for the concept options selected and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
• Quality Assurance:
  - Ensure all work meets the highest quality standards.
  - Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Training and Development:
  - Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
  - Promote a culture of learning and development within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 20-25 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 10 years in the Middle East, preferably Iraq.
• Extensive experience in 400kV, 132kV, and 11kV distribution systems, substation design, AIS/GIS, and ring main designs.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in electrical design software like ETAP, transmission & distribution design, etc.
• Knowledge of local (Iraq) standards and international electrical standards.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Additional Requirements

• Experience in direct line management of staff.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a demanding environment. This is a must.
• Provide effective communication with management, peers, and clients.
• Ensure security and integrity of all data provided, including reporting performance and customer information.
