Electronic Security Systems Consultant

Job description / Role

Stantec is currently looking for a Electronic Security Systems Consultant to join our dynamic team and support on a construction supervision project of a large office building complex which will accommodate the client’s administration and operation employees. This project will have related functional and supporting facility buildings in Abu Dhabi.

Your responsibilities will be:

- Project Management and scheduling, developing design budgets, quality control, adherence to client directives and project scope, performing site surveys and/or client engagement to develop design requirements.
- Drawing & specification documentation and cost estimating of new, existing or extended electronic security systems.
- Review, evaluate and update drawings and product submittals, prepare technical specifications for installation methods and components.
- Coordinate physical infrastructure system layout and as-built designs with internal and/or external partner teams.
- Play an integral role in the systems implementation process, acting as the primary point of contact between the systems vendor, the project team, and the client to ensure a successful implementation.
- Interact with systems vendors.
- Assist in preparation of marketing materials and presentations, cultivating active and potential client relationships.

Requirements

- 4 year Engineering degree
- 15+ years’ experience of comprehensive experience in the security systems design or design/build field.
- Full understanding of the architectural and engineering design and integration process.
- Experience with and technical working knowledge of security system design including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and advanced security applications such as biometrics, video analytics and visitor management.
- Working knowledge of risk assessments; electronic and physical security systems.
- Strong client service oriented and ability to interact with clients, staff, and management teams.
- Functional knowledge of BIM/Revit.
- Able to demonstrate experience of designs on electronic security systems and platforms such as Telecom, Access control systems, Security Systems, Pedestrian control, X ray scanning, Perimeter security etc or Analytics up to a detailed design level.
- Must have an understanding and design experience of security throughout the full design lifecycle and able to work to RIBA stages.
- A clear technical understanding of non-electronic security systems.
- Must have experience in undertaking security threat and risk assessment and security site surveys.
- The ability to implement security best practice to various industry standards.
- Will have experience in security design integration and assurance of installed security measures.
- Must have experience in leading technical and design teams in complex and integrated projects.
