Guildhall is seeking an experienced Employee Welfare Officer for a diversified landscape group operating in UAE. The Employee Welfare Officer is responsible for promoting the well-being, satisfaction, and engagement of employees across the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Employee Welfare & Engagement
• Develop, implement, and monitor employee welfare programs in line with UAE labor laws and company policies
• Organize initiatives related to health, safety, recreation, employee assistance, and well-being
• Promote employee engagement activities, including team-building events, wellness programs, and cultural initiatives
• Provide guidance and support to employees on welfare-related queries, benefits, and entitlements
• Ensure employees are aware of available welfare resources, insurance coverage, and support mechanisms
2. Compliance & Policy Administration
• Ensure all welfare programs comply with UAE Labor Law
• Monitor employee living conditions, accommodations, and work environments to ensure safety and compliance
• Assist HR in managing statutory requirements such as medical insurance, leave entitlements, and workplace safety
• Maintain accurate records of welfare-related incidents, complaints, and follow-ups
3. Grievance Handling & Conflict Resolution
• Serve as a first point of contact for employee grievances and welfare-related complaints
• Investigate welfare-related issues, mediate conflicts, and recommend solutions to management
• Ensure timely escalation of serious cases to HR or senior management while maintaining confidentiality
4. Health, Safety & Well-being Support
• Monitor workplace safety practices and recommend improvements
• Support occupational health initiatives and employee wellness campaigns
• Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and wellness vendors
• Organize health awareness sessions, vaccinations, and periodic medical check-ups
5. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Prepare reports on employee welfare activities, feedback, and key welfare metrics
• Analyze trends in employee satisfaction, absenteeism, and grievances to identify areas for improvement
• Recommend enhancements to welfare policies, programs, and facilities to management
• Stay updated on UAE labor regulations, labor welfare standards, and best practices
6. Labour Camp Management
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of employee/labour accommodation camps, ensuring proper living conditions, hygiene, and safety across all locations
• Manage camp capacity, monitor occupancy, and ensure accommodation standards meet company policies and UAE labor regulations
• Plan and coordinate new camp setups, including facility requirements, logistics, and approvals
• Handle camp renewals, maintenance schedules, and upgrades to ensure ongoing compliance and comfort
• Monitor welfare of employees residing in camps, addressing complaints, grievances, and health & safety concerns
• Maintain accurate records of camp occupancy, incidents, and compliance audits
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in employee welfare, HR, or employee relations, preferably in the UAE or GCC region
• Strong understanding of UAE Labor Law and employee welfare regulations
• Knowledge of employee benefits, insurance, and health & safety practices
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and confidentiality
• Strong organizational and reporting skills
• Experience in multinational organizations or large-scale operations in the UAE
• Certification in HR, labor law, or occupational health & safety is an advantage
• Familiarity with employee engagement tools and wellness program management
