Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Main Purpose of the role:
• To improve availability and performance of equipment across Del Monte facilities in the UAE.
• To ensure the maintenance of the building is kept up to the Del Monte standard and the food safety standards. (From the locks to the flooring, tiles, doors, toilets etc).
• To lead and support all technical projects required by business and/or regulations.
• To ensure proper and scheduled maintenance is being planned and conducted on all utility, machines and equipment.

The main areas of responsibility:
• To manage and allocate work with each division within Engineering department;
• Utilities.
• Production plant.
• Warehouses.
• Facility/Building.
• To manage and continuously improve the different type of maintenance across Del Monte facilities in the UAE. Maintenance types include;
• Periodic.
• Corrective.
• Conditioned based (Ad-hoc).
• Breakdown.
• Preventive.
• To ensure all job orders have been created and completed on both levels; physically on site as well as on SAP PM/MM.
• To verbally communicate with staff and management on a daily basis
• To create and submit reports to Senior Management.
Dimensions of the Job (targets):
• Maintenance KPI’s. To make sure targets are achieved and root causes of problems are addressed.
• Project constrains (Scope, time and cost). To ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment for new products.

Flexibility in having to carry out a range of different tasks:
• Flexibility to decide how each task is completed and what tasks to complete on a daily basis as long as set timeframes are adhered to

Work allocation, review and approval:
• Individual departments submit ad hoc job orders
• Engineering Manager reviews and approves all daily work
• Operations Manager completes final review and approval

Decision making authority:
• On cost
• Depending on the authority matrix in place

Contacts made with others outside of Del Monte:
• Vendors

Unusual features of the job:
• Needs to be reachable at any time to deal with any ad hoc maintenance problems

Major Problems encountered when carrying out role:
• Tight Deadlines in consideration to the production cycle

Requirements

• Engineering background.
• Maintenance experience of production Lines.
• Maintenance and operations experience in auxiliary units such as; Ammonia chilling plants, WWTP, steam boilers, air compressors and generators.
• Project Management.
• The dynamic operations of FMCG/Food. Plus, Food Safety Management Standards.
• Technical knowledge and experience in maintaining SCADA and PLC’s for brands such as Siemens/Allen Bradly
• Management and excellent communication skills.
