Environmental Manager

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Manager to lead our environmental initiatives in Dubai. The successful candidate will oversee compliance with environmental regulations, develop sustainability programs, and drive continuous improvement to minimize environmental impact and promote corporate social responsibility.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage environmental policies and programs to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Conduct regular environmental assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to environmental standards.
- Lead initiatives to reduce waste, energy consumption, and carbon footprint across the organization.
- Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and stay updated on environmental legislation.
- Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation required by regulatory authorities.
- Train and educate employees on environmental policies and best practices to promote awareness and sustainability culture.
- Manage environmental incidents and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into business operations and projects.

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in environmental management or related roles, preferably in the UAE or the Middle East region.
- Strong knowledge of UAE environmental laws and international environmental standards.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental management systems (EMS).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in environmental assessment tools and reporting software.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
