Event Day Operator - Audio/Video Systems

Job description / Role

The EDO position requires a hybrid Information Technology and Content creation/trafficking background. These core competencies must be coupled with strong communication skills and advanced organizational and customer management skills. IT experience with IP based audio/visual systems and experience with content creation tools are highly desirable (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Media Encoder, Adobe After Effects, complex content trafficking best practices, and IT based A/V systems in large venues, etc.).

• Experience working directly with customers (of all levels) and operating IT based systems in a real-time live production environment.
• Comfortable working in high pressure environment requiring real-time decision making.
• Excellent communication skills and can effectively work with all functions across matrix organization to achieve desired results.
• Self-starter requiring little supervision that is highly organized with the ability to effectively prioritize and drive closure across an array of tasks.
• Experience working with head-end (content packet encoding and distribution across an IP network) and router/switching configurations.
• Experience working with content development tools and the ability to modify content as required to meet content specifications.
• Effectively identify and communicate customer needs and requirements for equipment operations.
• Serve as company representative for venue regarding group & zone assignments, customer interfaces, custom configurations, etc…
• Develop and document interconnected processes for venue operations that link customer needs with system capabilities.
• Understanding new customer requirements as they pertain to enhancements and potential sales opportunities and communicating information back to company.
• Drive weekly meetings to ensure understanding of upcoming events and operational requirements from customer.
• Experience working with system software to operate IP based content driven audio visual systems.

Requirements

• Ability to work weekends and evenings. Understanding that normal business and preparation commence during regular business hours; and event operation, execution and some maintenance tend to take place during evenings and weekends.
• Ability to understand basic cabling and connectivity diagrams that enable troubleshooting of interconnected devices.
• Capable of providing basic system administration and troubleshooting. Experience in performing periodic system maintenance and back-ups to ensure optimal system performance.
• Communicate effectively with technical support teams if additional troubleshooting is required.
