Job description / Role
- Plans and organizes event technical staffing, equipment and facility requirements; meets with event production staff to determine production needs and establish schedules; trains, schedules, coordinates and supervises crews in all aspects of technical setups to include sound equipment, lighting equipment, staging and flooring; coordinates production requirements such as dirt fills for rodeos and special flooring for ice shows; makes recommendations on hiring, evaluation, and personnel actions for student workers; completes forms and prepares written reports; monitors event budgets and expenditures; may assess weights and loads on facility grid system to determine proper rigging points and whether stress loads are within structural limits; may supervise and train crews in up and down rigging.
- Operates lighting and audio equipment; maintains and repairs staging and flooring; establishes and maintains preventive maintenance schedule for sound and lighting equipment, flooring, staging, and other equipment as needed; recommends equipment replacement; maintains inventory of parts and supplies; may perform up and down rigging of show equipment on grid system.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in scheduling and coordinating crews in the set up and tear down of equipment in a concert or entertainment environment; operating and maintaining commercial audio systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology
- Ability to communicate information effectively
