Job description / Role
We have a promising senior role with an established museum in the GCC area. The candidate would need substantial experience and knowledge about museum operations, exhibits, budget management, and Middle East culture. Their main responsibilities would also entail providing guidance and strategy to the main aspects of the museum namely in learning/education, mediation, publication, and cultural programs. It is essential that the position holder possesses a strong business acumen and growth mindset, understanding that the museum not only needs quality collections but alternative streams of revenue.
Requirements
It is ideal that the candidate meets the following:
• Candidate must have a minimum of 11 years of experience in a museum, of which 2 years in a senior/director level role
• Experience in handling large and complex events, ensuring the highest standards are met
• Experience and/or knowledge in handling all four key areas: learning/education, mediation, publication, and cultural programs
• Experience in direct interactions with high profile individuals (i.e., government authorities, VIP officials, etc.)
• Experience in leading various events with large budgets in a fast-paced environment
