Employment: Full Time

The Executive Director of Human Resources is responsible for offering comprehensive, innovative and results-oriented services modeled on the best human resources practices. He/she acts as steward of employee resources in service to the university’s academic, service and research missions and educational and administrative objectives. The Executive Director reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create a vision in line with institutional priorities.
• Develop and administer human resource policy.
• Develop and administer assessment processes to ensure continuous improvement.
• Modernize processes leading to effective, results-oriented services.
• Provide in-depth, data-based advice to the Chancellor and senior officers.
• Lead a wide field of related departments including visa services, wellness, on-campus day care and after-school clubs, and the university’s medical clinic.

Requirements

Qualifications Required:
• Relevant academic qualification at master’s level or above; professional qualification of CIPD level 7.

Required Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
• Ability to collaborate with the Chancellor, senior staff and constituents at all levels of the institution to translate the goals and initiatives of the university into human resource strategic and operational plans.
• Placement of employee well-being, development and performance at the heart of your approach.
• Knowledge of principles, procedures, and best practices for recruitment, selection, on-boarding, training and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, retention, and human resources information systems, and relevant laws.
• Ability to provide consultation and guidance to all levels of administration, faculty and staff concerning human resource matters with a high degree of confidentiality, ethics and integrity
• Substantial leadership experience from within an academic environment, preferably the US academic system.
• Proven ability to create a vision that drives process optimization.
• Naturally engaging style and innovative outlook, with a well-developed leadership capability.
• Ability to listen and engage, using staff data and feedback to continuously improve employee satisfaction, engagement advocacy.
• Capacity to be an inspiring communicator and a strong project manager, and to work effectively with stakeholders to advance the mission and goals of AUS.
