Job overview
The Royal Grammar School Guildford Dubai is looking for an EYFS teacher to join for August 2026.
RGSGD is seeking an exceptional EYFS teacher to join our outstanding Early Years team. We believe that the best early education combines warmth, rigour, and imagination — where every child is known, valued, and inspired to explore, create, and grow.
Our EYFS provision reflects the very best of the RGS heritage, blending the Early Years Foundation Stage framework with purposeful play, outdoor learning, and the RGS Learning Habits of reflection, imagination, perseverance, aspiration, engagement, and organisation.
About Cognita
Cognita is a global leader in independent education. Founded in 2004, we are a growing community of 100+ schools in 16 countries - in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East - serving more than 85,000 students. Each of our schools is proudly unique, however our collective purpose is to create an environment where everyone can, ‘thrive in a rapidly evolving world’.
At Cognita, we know every student is unique. We nurture their distinct personalities and strengths. We support them academically, socially, and emotionally, wherever they are in the world, wherever they’re starting from. We protect what’s special about them, while offering them rich knowledge, opportunities, and best practices. And they get to be part of something bigger; ensuring they get an education that’s, quite literally, world class.
About the school
The Royal Grammar School Guildford (RGS), one of Britain’s most distinguished independent schools, in partnership with Cognita, the global leader in educational excellence, seeks an outstanding teacher for our prestigious sister school, Royal Grammar School Guildford Dubai (RGS Guildford Dubai). This is an exceptional opportunity to join a true 3-18 through school, where academic excellence, holistic education, and service to others are the foundation of all that we do.
At RGS Guildford Dubai, we champion kindness, kindness, kindness, alongside academic rigour, tradition, and innovation. As we prepare to celebrate our first graduates in 2029, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of scholars and leaders. With a passion for education, we seek a teacher who can inspire across disciplines, embodying both intellectual flair and a commitment to the British curriculum.
You will join a school steeped in rites and rituals—from the prestigious and revered Order of the Rose to the grandeur of our Prize Days, achievement is consistently celebrated with appropriate pomp and ceremony. At RGS Guildford Dubai, manners and morals are as integral as academic excellence, ensuring our students are prepared to lead with integrity and confidence.
Our House System, echoing the traditions of RGS UK, lies at the core of school life, fostering a spirit of friendly competition, camaraderie, and leadership. Whether competing in House events or developing a sense of belonging, students are nurtured within this timeless framework. Additionally, you’ll be contributing to the life of The Den, a quintessentially British space where senior students gather to reflect, read, and grow—offering a haven for intellectual and personal development.
We take pride in our rich blend of tradition and innovation, offering students opportunities such as international trips that broaden their perspectives while remaining rooted in the values of an elite British education. Our focus on a holistic education extends beyond the classroom, ensuring that students grow in character, confidence, and global awareness, with a steadfast commitment to service to others.
This is not just a teaching position but an invitation to join a legacy of excellence, where you will contribute to shaping a community that aspires to greatness. If you are ready to help write the next chapter of our storied tradition, we invite you to apply.
The ideal candidate will
- Hold a recognised Early Years or Primary teaching qualification with QTS (or equivalent).
- Demonstrate excellent understanding of child development and early learning pedagogy.
- Have no less than 3 years experience.
- Create joyful, language-rich, and inclusive environments that nurture curiosity and independence.
- Be passionate about building strong home-school partnerships.
- Thrive as part of a collaborative, research-informed, and nurturing team.
We offer
- The opportunity to be part of a growing, innovative school at an exciting stage of development.
- Access to exceptional professional development linked to the RGS Guildford UK and the Cognita Be Well Charter.
- A culture where wellbeing, kindness, and excellence go hand-in-hand.
- A competitive, tax-free salary and benefits package.
If you are a teacher who believes in the power of early education to shape futures — and you want to help children love learning from the very start, we would love to meet you.
The school reserves the right to interview and appoint strong candidates before the official closing date, and therefore we would encourage candidates to apply early in the process.
Cognita is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects the same from its employees. All new staff will be subject to detailed and enhanced pre-employment clearance, including identity checks, criminal background checks for all countries lived in, qualification checks, employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps in employment, and satisfactory reference checks for all employment in the last 5 years.
