Job description

• Greeting and welcoming guests as they arrive at the restaurant.
• Escorting guests to their tables and providing them with menus.
• Taking reservations and managing the seating plan to ensure efficient operation.
• Providing recommendations on food and drink selections, along with information about specials and promotions.
• Ensuring that guests are attended to promptly and addressing any requests or concerns they may have.
• Coordinating with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure smooth service.
• Handling guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Assist in setting up and clearing tables to ensure a smooth flow of service.
• Collaborate with the restaurant manager and staff to ensure that guest preferences and special requests are accommodated.
• Maintain knowledge of the restaurant's menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to provide accurate information to guests.
• Assist in training and mentoring new hostess staff members.
• Help with administrative tasks such as taking reservations, managing guest lists, and updating restaurant seating arrangements.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely.
• Assist in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly and welcoming demeanour.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food and beverage offerings.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
