Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To support Fixed Assets and Inventory process optimisation and best practice across IHS, perform Fixed Assets and Inventory Accounting for the assigned entities and finalize applicable high-quality balance sheet reconciliations which can stand the test of audit.
Customers/Partners in the region, Group Financial Control team, External and Internal Auditors.

• Support change, process standardization & continuous improvement mindset across IHS
• Solid knowledge of fixed asset and inventory best practice & trends
• Oversee the daily activities of FA&I officers and approval of system postings
• Oversight and approval of Fixed Asset additions, retires, adjustments, enhancements, revaluations and transfers
• Oversight and approval of Inventory Accounting activities
• Review and first level approval of FA&I- GL reconciliations
• Deep understanding of the end-to-end FA&I processes
• Support performance management and reporting against fixed asset and inventory metrics
• Support training and education on new policies, practices and standards
• Duties of an FA&I Officer
• Fixed Asset and Inventory Officer Duties
• Create new asset in D365
• Update Fixed Asset movements in D365
• Perform asset write-down/ revaluation in D365
• Update Fixed Asset disposals in D365
• Month-end processing
• Perform Fixed Asset GL reconciliation
• Journal postings
• Journal approval
• Produce month-end reports
• Month-end depreciation calculation and processing (post)
• Production of high quality FA&I data to support tax, statutory, and regulatory reporting
• Inventory accounting (i.e. SLOB, write offs, bulk diesel accruals, GIT)
• Stock count entries in D365
• Purchase price variance (PPV)
• Cost of sales analysis
• Inventory valuation
• Product costing
• Deep understanding of the end-to-end FA&I processes
• Demonstrate competencies in financial accounting, analytical thinking and problem solving
• Working knowledge of applicable IFRS and IAS (IFRS 16 and IAS 16, 36 and 37)

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years post graduate experience (essential)
• Worked in Shared Services type environment (desirable)
• Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (essential)
• Experienced people management across cultural and under pressure
