Job description / Role
Our client, an international construction firm, is currently looking for a Façade Design Engineer to be based in Dubai for a 6 months contract. The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Undertake the design, engineering and documentation, provide specialist input, resolve technical problems and ensure quality of products and services on projects undertaken by the team
- Work closely with the Team Leader or Project Leader on all technical matters relating to the projects
- Assist the project teams with all aspect of project implementation, including but not limited to site and factory inspection, quality, audits, reports preparation
- Works on defined tasks under limited supervision with some autonomy
- Responsible for checking the quality and accuracy of own work
- Responsible for the production of routine letters and/or reports and other documents from standard templates
- Represent the team/group/profession/discipline at external meetings
- Undertake liaison and coordination with other designers, including architects, and other consultants
- Handle routine contract administration for office and project procedures
- Responsible for meeting agreed deadlines
- Perform structural and thermal design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills and experience
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare façade engineering design documents
- Research design options and document findings
- Demonstrate capability and experience in managing and performing projects in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture/engineering or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in facades fundamentals
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
- Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals
- Willing to be based in Dubai
- Willing to work 10 hours/day and 28 days/month
