Facilities Manager

Job description / Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the smooth operation and maintenance of our premier shopping mall in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for both tenants and visitors while optimizing facility services and resources.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the mall's facilities including maintenance, security, cleaning, and safety operations.
- Oversee vendor and contractor relationships, including negotiating contracts and monitoring performance to ensure quality service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
- Prepare and manage the facilities budget, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with mall management to plan facility upgrades and expansions that support business objectives.
- Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and coordinate resolution efforts to minimize impact.
- Lead and motivate a team of facilities staff to maintain high standards of service and operational excellence.

- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in facilities management, preferably within retail or shopping mall environments.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with tenants, vendors, and management.
- Familiarity with local health, safety, and environmental regulations in the UAE.
- Proficient in facilities management software and MS Office applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies when required.
