Job description / Role
Working for a well recognised MNC within the property development sector, this key position reports into the MENA Finance Director who is also based in Dubai. This role takes the lead in the development and analysis of the annual budget and works closely with the Finance Managers in each country to ensure all reporting deadlines are met. The Finance Controller position therefore requires an experienced individual who takes a very hands-on and proactive approach and remains disciplined and structures in their day-to-day activities.
Fully supporting the Finance Mangers with any guidance and training needs you will ensure all monthly, quarterly and bi-annual deadlines and reporting mechanisms are met, including up to annual statutory audit and liaison with the external audit providers. These reports will then form part of the MIS packs on a monthly basis and you may be required to present such to the Board in the absence of the Finance Director to assist the Senior Management Team to make key business decisions.
Taking responsibility for financial compliance you will constantly monitor and evaluate internal controls and foster an environment of continued best practice and knowledge sharing. This role will also be an opportunity to further enhance the finance function and create more efficient ways of managing the flow of information across the region. It is also expected that you will also oversee all payroll actions and ensure a proactive relationship is developed with the HR team to ensure accuracy of information at all times.
Requirements
• Candidates considered for this role must demonstrate “Big 4” exposure at some point in their career and team management in a similar multi-national company with overall finance experience of 8 years+.
• The successful candidate will possess relevant financial qualifications (e.g.CA, CMA) and have working knowledge of IFRS and Tax, with UK SOX experience being highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills in the English language and an analytical and methodical approach are required.
