Charterhouse are currently in the process of managing a search for a client whom are positioned, within a start-up stage, in the E-Commerce space. With an emerging coverage, across the GCC, this business has a niche market sector and target audience for their retail coverage, product lines and on-line customer services.

As the Finance Director, the role will take overall and direct responsibility for the existing finance department, to oversee the operational functions of the department whilst ensuring the overall delegation and segregation of duties across the team. In conjunction, this role shall also have oversight of all planning, budgeting and funding obligations to ensure that the commercial dimension and “value-add” support can be introduced across the business with a strategic and visionary partnership. The role will also extend to the development and implementation of financial planning and analysis tools; to ensure that the finance capability can allow for strong MIS to all business units and senior management to allow for decision support. This analytical aspect shall demand a track record of financial modelling, ensuring that expansionary and operational plans, can be assessed and executed in alignment with the financial and commercial objectives of the organisation.

Requirements

The client will look to hire a finance professional with a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) and a post-qualified background from a consultancy environment coupled with an industry exposure to the world of E-Commerce and/or retail sectors. The successful candidate shall be required to demonstrate a solid track record of financial reporting and financial management, whilst having the hard and soft skills, to work within a business support remit that can evolve financial policy and procedures in support of business growth and diversification. Candidates will also be required to demonstrate an understanding of financing and banking relationships; ensuring adequate funding and treasury management controls. The nature of the business will also mean that the client will look for well-rounded and “hands-on” candidates whom can manage relationships at all levels and cross-functionally across the organisation.
