Finance Manager

Job description / Role

Job Summary

You will be responsible for all finance management related activities including the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and processes, budgeting and monitoring construction costs, produce accurate and timely cost management reports, manage planning and forecasting processes and auditing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

IT Systems

• Develop systems that enhance decision making. Compile data that leads to real time, daily data capture and dynamic monitoring. Lead and help implement software and Navision 2017 on a timely basis and in line with operational and financial needs.

Budgeting & MIS

• Lead the budgeting & forecasting exercise of the company and ensure all costs are correctly captured
• Analyze all variances and set up immediate control mechanisms to ensure project and company goals are met.
• Ensure timely MIS reports (by the 10th of the following month)
• Lead the examining of the MIS and ensure they are regularly updated on costs and revenue

SOP

• Ensure Accounting & Financial Manuals, DOA and Operating Procedures are compiled and formalized.

Cost Saving Reports

• Compile, analyze and produce financial and cost management reports that help management to make real time and informed decision.
• Closely monitor workshop and warehouse operations and reporting

Banking and Cash Flow Management

• Compile cash flows and monitor to ensure IN and OUT are in balance and shortfalls are addressed. Work with Commercial Manager and GM to ensure IN and OUT are planned and concerns if any highlighted.
• Banking relationships are initiated, built and maintained. Overall day to day operations are managed.

Certification & Collections

• Responsible to liaise with Commercial Manager on certifications and collections
• Review PSR reports for factual correctness and raise concerns

Project Monitoring & Controls

• Ensure project monitoring and cost controls are in place and functional
• Ensure regular visits to projects & ensure operational controls are in place to safeguard business.
• Analyze project costs, pricing and the company’s actual performance compared to plans
• Review all project, subcontract agreements being signed and ensure risks are identified and highlighted to the management.

Heading Finance Department

• Oversee operations of the finance department; objectives and design a framework for these to be met.
• Build, Lead, manage and control a competent team driven by results.
• Ensure all audit requirements are submitted and audits are finished within deadlines
• Responsible for regular goal setting & performance evaluations of finance team

Requirements

• Perform all other duties as assigned by the General Manager/ Chief Financial Officer

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

• CA/ CPA or similar
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar field out of which minimum 3 years UAE experience in the construction field preferred
• Extensive understanding of financial accounting principles
• Bold personality, strong interpersonal and presentation skills
• Efficiently manage teams
• Possesses ability to take decisions has initiative, drive and is a self-starter
