Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job purpose:

The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Chief Finance Officer in management of funds to maximize return on investment and minimizing risk by laying down policies and procedures. Assist in the preparation of reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis to reduce cost and improve operational performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounting and finance function of the entire group and prepare monthly reports reflecting proper earnings based on accrual concept.
  • Preparation and upkeep of accounting manuals and procedures and monitor the adherence to the same.
  • Preparation of product/business unit profitability statement on a monthly basis and communicate the same to the respective stakeholders.
  • Independently handle the audit process and ensure all queries and questions are resolved on a timely basis and secure a clean report within the stipulated time.
  • Control on the branch office reports on local expenses and ensure receipt of the same on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure reconciling items in the bank statements are adjusted appropriately.
  • Manage and maintain the fixed assets/demo equipment register and ensure all capital/work in progress is capitalized on completion.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of local and foreign vendors conducted on a monthly basis and ensure all payment allocations are done as they happen. Ensure any open issue is resolved by investigating the reasons for the same.
  • Handle the review of the ERP system and make changes and amendments.
  • Computation of performance of individual sales persons and business units on a monthly basis within 7 working days and communicate the same to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee the treasury function and take part in the cash flow management and discuss with suppliers if there are any issues in orders and resolve them.

Key performance indicators:

  • Monthly closure of books and preparation of financial statements within 5 working days.
  • Fixed asset accounting and management.
  • Ensure reconciliation of vendors (local and foreign) on monthly basis and resolve conflicts.
  • Monitor branch office expenses and ensure all expenses happen with proper authorization.
  • Completion of audit process on a timely basis and obtaining a clean report within the stipulated time.
  • Routine accounting and bookkeeping.

Qualifications and experience:

  • The ideal candidate should have 8-10 years of experience within the IT distribution industry and must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) to be based in Dubai, UAE.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance and accounting and experience with professional qualification in accounting (preferably a Chartered Accountant).
  • Excellent communication and writing skills to provide commentary and presentation of financial results.
  • Should have worked on ERP systems.
  • Ability to conduct and conclude audits independently and address queries from the auditors.
